What makes a team successful, and can sport teach us how to communicate, motivate, and support others? Leadership through Sport is an Erasmus+ Training Course near Metz in France that helps young people step into leadership roles with confidence, using physical activity and non-formal education to build the soft skills every good leader and coach needs.

About the Project

What makes a team successful? Is success possible without a good leader? Effective group management is one of the key elements of healthy, sustainable cooperation. A leader supports and motivates the team, takes responsibility for the group, and faces the challenge of solving problems. But stepping into that role is not always easy for young adults, and many feel unsure about building their position within a group without previous experience. This project gives young people the chance to develop those soft skills beforehand.

Why Through Sport?

Life is like a sports field, where a coach's roles, from skill-building to psychological support, are universal. Based on non-formal education, the project combines physical activity with practical leadership development to enrich the learning process. Participants explore methods useful in coaching and leadership, learn effective techniques, and develop communication skills, discovering how to adapt their message to different groups. They also explore different leadership styles, reflect on their strengths and weaknesses, and discuss stress management and the importance of psychological support in sport and teamwork.
