Description
Associazione Il Ce.Sto Onlus has been involved since 1987 in the promotion of integration and social promotion processes among the different ethnicities living in the historical center of Genoa, with particular attention towards minors, second-generation migrants, and other actors in the neighborhood. The association has built a space that empowers educational, recreational, and creative goals among minors of different ethnicities and Italians; stimulates and encourages positive relations between people, encounters, mutual knowledge, and solidarity; provides paths and tolls to value and enforce individuals and communityโs potential. Volunteer's activities :-Creating social animation activities and games for kids and teenagers in the social center and summer camps. -Organizing workshops, events, or sports activities with the youngsters and local volunteers. -Afterschool tutoring activities. -Supporting the organization of cultural and intercultural promotion activities/events in Luzzati
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will live in Genova in a shared apartment with double/triple rooms. 6 euros per day of pocket money and food or a food allowance will be provided. The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission
Training during the activity
The volunteer will participate in the training opportunities offered by the Italian National Agency (On Arrival Training, Mid Term Evaluation, and Final Evaluation). In addition, they will also take part in the training opportunities organized by association P.E.CO., together with the other volunteers involved in the activities of other Hosting Organizations in Genoa. They will also receive specific training in the Hosting Organization related to the target group they will work with.
Participant profile
REQUIRED AGE 20 YO. Available for the WHOLE duration of the project (min 6 months). The ideal volunteer should have: -high flexibility and adaptability to new situations, open-minded and cheerful personality; - prepared to take up a delicate role in contact with young people that often come from complex family situations; - ready to work in the multicultural environment; - tolerance, patience, firmness, creativity; basic knowledge of English, willing to learn Italian.
