🔷 Activity Details
Description
The volunteer will join local community centres and support activities that bring together social inclusion, environmental sustainability and healthy food. Working alongside local residents of all ages, they will help organise workshops, community events and awareness-raising activities on topics such as sustainable lifestyles, recycling and upcycling, urban gardening, healthy and affordable cooking, food waste reduction, and responsible consumption. The volunteer will be encouraged to share ideas, traditions and sustainable practices from their own country while learning from the local community. They will contribute to creating inclusive spaces where people can meet, exchange experiences and develop practical solutions for everyday environmental and social challenges. The volunteer will also promote European values and mobility opportunities, take part in intercultural activities, and help strengthen community engagement through solidarity, participation and cooperation.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will be selected for this mission. He/she will share a two-bedroom apartment located in the town center of Saint-Martin-Boulogne near shops and public transports. The volunteers will receive an allowance of 450€ for food, and pocket money. The volunteer will have to assist to the two training sessions organized by the French National Agency. She/He will also be able to participate to trainings organized by Bellidée. The volunteer will have access to the EU Academy platform and will have courses with a local volunteer to help her/him to learn French.
Participant profile
We are looking for someone curious, motivated and willing to engage with local communities on ecological and social topics. The volunteer should be open-minded, proactive, and eager to share ideas and practices from their own culture, while co-creating solutions with others. A strong interest in sustainability, community work, or European values is welcome.
