AHH: Empowering Children in Nepal - 150 days opportunity

๐Ÿ“‹ Everything you need to know about applying for ESC volunteering โ€” all in one place. The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is one of the most life-changing opportunities available to young people across Europe, yet many applicants walk in without a clear picture of what to expect. This complete guide covers how ESC works, who can apply, what costs are covered, what your daily life as a volunteer looks like, and how to strengthen your application from the start. Whether you're applying for the first time or exploring your options, this is the one resource you should read before anything else. ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://youthworkshub.org/15101/

๐Ÿ”ท Activity Details

๐Ÿ‘‰Description

The ESC HumAid Volunteering Program in Okhaldhunga, Nepal focuses on four development areas: Public Health and Wellbeing, Child Protection, Early Childhood Education, and Teacher Development. Volunteers support local communities by assisting health workers, promoting hygiene and sanitation awareness, organising creative learning activities for children, helping Early Childhood Development Centres, and participating in teacher training support. The goal is to empower marginalized communities and contribute to sustainable development.

๐Ÿ‘‰Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will stay in the Naratika Community Learning Centre (VIN hostel) in Okhaldhunga. Accommodation is simple, with shared living spaces, separate rooms for male and female volunteers, bunk beds, basic kitchen access, shared bathrooms, and occasional power cuts. Basic Nepali food is provided; volunteers must manage specific dietary requirements. Laundry service is available for a small fee. The volunteer will spend the first night in Kathmandu, then travel by jeep to Okhaldhunga (approx. 8โ€“9 hours). Project sites are reached by walking (10 minutes to 1โ€“1.5 hours daily).

๐Ÿ‘‰Participant profile

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated volunteer ready to join our 150-day project in Nepal as soon as possible. No formal physical fitness requirements, but the volunteer should consider their limits, as daily walking to the work site is required. The volunteer should be open to simple living conditions, a rural environment, and working with marginalised communities.
