About the Role

The purpose of this internship is to support the Investigations Division of UNRWA's Department of Internal Oversight Services (DIOS ID) by providing Arabic-English interpretation and related assistance for investigations, assessments, and intake activities, and by supporting the accurate documentation and understanding of information gathered through these processes.

Under the overall guidance of designated DIOS ID staff, you will provide interpretation and related support to investigative, assessment, and intake activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Provide accurate and impartial Arabic-English interpretation during interviews, discussions, intake contacts, assessments, or other investigative support activities

๐Ÿ“„ Assist in translating or summarising relevant documents, communications, or case-related materials, while preserving meaning, tone, and confidentiality

๐Ÿ“š Support DIOS ID staff in preparing for interviews, assessments, and intake activities, including by reviewing background materials and organising documentation

๐Ÿ“ Assist in preparing interview notes, summaries, chronologies, or other written records, under the guidance of DIOS ID staff

๐Ÿ”’ Support the organisation and handling of sensitive information in accordance with applicable confidentiality and information-management requirements

๐Ÿค Provide other support to investigations, assessments, and intake processes, as requested

Qualifications and Skills

๐ŸŽ“ Enrolment in, or recent completion of, a university degree in translation, interpretation, law, international relations, social sciences, public administration, or another relevant field
