The European Stability Mechanism (ESM) is the permanent crisis resolution mechanism for euro area countries, providing financial assistance to members facing financing difficulties. To date, the ESM and its predecessor, the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), have launched six financial assistance programmes to five countries. About the Role

This role is ideal for a young professional eager to develop expertise in capital markets, fixed income instruments, and primary market execution. You will support the Funding and Investor Relations division in monitoring the institution's global relationships with banks, institutional bond investors, and other fixed income market participants, contributing to funding activities including the preparation and execution of syndicated transactions, auctions, private placements, and derivatives. You will report to the Head of Funding and Investor Relations.

Key Accountabilities

๐Ÿฆ Maintain regular contact with investment banks within the ESM's market group to collect key information about market developments and investor demand

๐Ÿ“ˆ Contribute to the development of the ESM funding strategy and implement new funding instruments

๐Ÿ’ถ Ensure the execution of primary market activities through auction, syndication, or private placement

๐Ÿ“Š Organise and analyse information to systematically inform and advise management on the status and prospects of capital markets

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Regularly update management and other divisions on market developments

๐Ÿ” Monitor and analyse the primary market activities of other issuers

Key Background and Experience

๐ŸŽ“ A university degree in a relevant area (finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or data science)

๐Ÿ’ผ A minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in capital markets, finance, treasury, or related areas

๐Ÿ“ˆ A good understanding of capital markets, especially fixed income markets
