About the Organisation
Africa Legal Aid (AFLA) is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of human rights and international justice. AFLA is proud of its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Its work includes advocacy on major international justice issues; for example, in the lead-up to the review of the Kampala Amendments on the Crime of Aggression by the Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court (ICC), AFLA mobilised the responsible ministers of African States Parties to the ICC to raise awareness and foster ownership, advocating for a crime of aggression regime that is fair and legitimate, aligned with the rules applied to the other core crimes of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
