🔷 Activity Details

Description

My Green Steps Through the Forest is a short-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering project taking place in Arrouquelas, a small rural village in central Portugal. The project aims to promote environmental awareness, forest preservation, and active citizenship through practical and community-based activities. Volunteers will support the maintenance of green and public spaces, participate in forest surveillance and fire prevention initiatives, contribute to recycling campaigns, and help organize awareness-raising workshops and intercultural events. Participants will work closely with local residents, learn about sustainable rural development, and experience life in a multicultural environment. The project also encourages creativity and teamwork through the creation of social media content, exhibitions, and educational materials.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Participants will be accommodated in a camping area managed by the hosting organization in the rural village of Arrouquelas, Portugal. Volunteers will stay in shared tents separated by gender, with access to sanitary facilities and common spaces. Breakfast, lunch, and part of the dinner arrangements will be provided by the hosting organization. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to prepare intercultural dinners together, promoting cultural exchange and teamwork. Travel costs will be covered according to ESC regulations
