L'organizzazione d'accoglienza è un plesso scolastico pubblico che comprende un asilo e una scuola primaria. Si trova in un'area di campagna, dove le relazioni di vicinato sono strette ed è forte l'impegno a mantenere vive le tradizioni e i valori della vita rurale. Il plesso privilegia un approccio pedagogico olistico ed esperienziale, volto a far crescere l'autodeterminazione dei bambini. È inoltre particolarmente aperto nei confronti della comunità locale. Come volontario potrai occuparti di: attività pedagogiche strutturate, laboratori multidisciplinari, insegnamento dell'Inglese, apprendimento attraverso l'esperienza, attività artistiche e musicali, supporto scolastico individuale o a piccoli gruppi, attività comunitarie e intergenerazionali, attività di promozione del benessere fisico e di valori sociali, iniziative di sostenibilità ambientale, altre iniziative personali proposte da te, gestione dei locali e dei materiali, promozione del volontariato europeo presso la comunità.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Sarai ospitato in una stanza all'interno d'un appartamento condiviso con un altro volontario nel vicino comune di Bullas. L'appartamento è arredato e con internet, e le utenze sono pagate (entro i normali limiti di consumo). Riceverai un'indennità mensile di 370 euro per le spese di vitto e personali, che è anchde l'importo della cauzione restituita alla fine del volontariato. Il viaggio a/r dall'Italia alla Spagna ti sarà completamente rimborsato, mentre per andare da Bullas al plesso Machado potrai usare una bicicletta, o accordarti con i genitori degli scolari. È compresa un'assicurazione.
Training during the activity
Avrai tre momenti formativi ufficiali: una formazione prepartenza prima di lasciare l'Italia, una seconda formazione, detta "all'arrivo", qualche settimana dopo l'inizio del tuo volontariato in Spagna, e una terza formazione, detta "di medio periodo" dopo la metà della missione. Nel quotidiano, gli altri insegnanti e l'intero staff del plesso saranno sempre disponibili a guidarti e supportarti nel corso della tua esperienza, che ti permetterà d'affinare le tue competenze come assistente insegnante in un contesto di informalità e in un clima molto familiare.

Sei il candidato ideale per questo progetto se sei pronto a lanciarti con entusiasmo nell'attività quotidiana d'un plesso scolastico, e ti piace proporre idee, progetti e iniziative personali in àmbito educativo. Considera che la scuola ha un approccio focalizzato sulla relazione umana, e quindi non è gradito l'uso del cellulare durante le attività con i bambini: devi essere quindi pronto a separarti dalle relazioni online per alcune ore del giorno. Non ci sono prerequisiti particolari per candidarsi a questo progetto, ma, date le sue caratteristiche, a parità d'altri fattori sarà data priorità a chi abbia già maturato esperienze in ambiente scolastico, in oratori parrocchiali e con gli scouts, o abbia un chiaro indirizzo di studio o lavoro orientato verso l'insegnamento in asili o scuole primarie. Anche la conoscenza della lingua spagnola è un fattore considerato positivamente. Il contesto sociale e logistico è quello di un villaggio rurale, perciò ci sono poche occasioni di svago extra lavoro, ma profonde relazioni umane.
