Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, is offering a traineeship in its Casework Unit Counter-terrorism / Core International Crimes Unit (CWU CT/CIC), based at its headquarters in The Hague. The unit supports Eurojust in the fields of core international crimes and counter-terrorism, with multidisciplinary teams providing legal and analytical advice to National Desks and Liaison Prosecutors, as well as strategic support to Senior Management.

Traineeship Specification
๐ Conduct legal research on complex issues related to core international crimes, counter-terrorism, EU sanctions violations, judicial cooperation and other matters relevant to the unit
๐ Assist with analysis of jurisprudence in counter-terrorism and/or core international crimes
๐ Draft or assist with drafting legal memoranda, summaries, reports, legal notes and meeting minutes
โ Cite-check and/or edit documents
๐๏ธ Assist with the unit's document management system
๐ค Participate in non-sensitive internal meetings and other tasks as requested by the supervisor
Eligibility
๐ช๐บ Be a national of an EU Member State or an EU candidate country (exceptionally, nationals of third countries with a cooperation agreement or working arrangement with Eurojust may be accepted, depending on budget)
๐ Be a recent university, master's or doctorate graduate, with the diploma obtained by the closing date
๐ฌ๐ง Have very good English (minimum B2), Eurojust's working language
โ Not have received more than six weeks of any in-service training/internship, nor have worked or been employed in any capacity within an EU institution, body, office or agency
General Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
๐ A completed university degree in Law, preferably with a focus on EU Law, EU Criminal Justice, International Criminal Law or International Humanitarian Law
โ Ability to take responsibility for specific areas of work and see actions through to completion, meeting deadlines
๐ฌ๐ง Very good written and spoken English
โ๏ธ Good drafting skills
๐ฃ๏ธ Good communication and interpersonal skills
๐ Aptitude for teamwork in an international, multicultural environment, with a cooperative, customer-oriented attitude
โญ Preferably, experience or internships in counter-terrorism or core international crimes (at international criminal law tribunals, NGOs, EU institutions, etc.)
๐ป Proficiency in MS Office
Selection Process

๐ชช Trainees must hold valid health insurance for the Netherlands throughout the traineeship (not covered by Eurojust); civil liability insurance is also advised
