Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, is offering a traineeship at the Secretariat of the European Judicial Network (EJN), based at its headquarters in The Hague. The EJN is a network of national contact points facilitating judicial cooperation in criminal matters, and its Secretariat is responsible for the network's administration.

Eurojust supports, strengthens and improves coordination of investigations and prosecutions among the competent judicial authorities of EU Member States in the fight against serious and organised cross-border crime.
Traineeship Specification
๐ Conduct legal research relevant to the EJN, covering legislative developments at national, international and EU level and case-law updates
๐ Support the organisation of EJN meetings by preparing documents and providing information to participants
๐ค Liaise with relevant units at Eurojust
๐ Support EJN website projects, reviewing and editing content and identifying missing documents or information
๐๏ธ Monitor and update the EJN Contact Points lists for EU Member States and Third Countries
๐ฐ Draft articles for EJN News and the EJN newsletter
๐ Draft emails, reports and documents, including minutes and reports from meetings
Eligibility
๐ช๐บ Be a national of an EU Member State or an EU candidate country (exceptionally, nationals of third countries with a cooperation agreement or working arrangement with Eurojust may be accepted, depending on budget)
๐ Be a recent university, master's or doctorate graduate, with the diploma obtained by the closing date
๐ฌ๐ง Have very good English (minimum B2), Eurojust's working language
โ Not have received more than six weeks of any in-service training/internship, nor have worked or been employed in any capacity within an EU institution, body, office or agency
General Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
๐ A completed university degree in International Relations, Law or other relevant fields
โ Ability to take responsibility for specific areas of work and see actions through to completion, meeting deadlines
๐ฃ๏ธ Good communication and interpersonal skills
โ๏ธ Good drafting and analytical skills
๐๏ธ Good organisational skills
๐ป Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
๐ Aptitude for teamwork in a fast-paced, international, multicultural environment, with a cooperative, customer-oriented attitude
๐ฌ๐ง Excellent written and spoken English, the working language of Eurojust and the vehicular language of the EJN
Selection Process
๐๏ธ Applications are assessed on the information in the form only, and must be submitted through Eurojust eRecruitment (no other means accepted), in English
๐ฅ Only candidates invited for interviews are contacted; selected candidates have an online interview with the relevant unit and an HR representative
๐ Before signing the agreement, trainees provide original documents evidencing identity, education, proof of sickness insurance and a certificate of good conduct (not older than six months)
๐ชช Trainees must hold valid health insurance for the Netherlands throughout the traineeship (not covered by Eurojust); civil liability insurance is also advised
