Description

NGO IniciativAngola is looking for one motivated, enthusiastic, and open volunteer for the opportunity to work in an international environment, to learn about solidarity with people in Africa and worldwide while acquiring new skills in the field of education, volunteering, and youth. We encourage YOU to contribute your talents for your unprivileged peers in the Global South countries. Social and communicative abilities, orientation to help, experience in working with young people, motivation to work with social networks, independent working and other skills that can be useful for voluntary activities, e.g., crafts, design, music, sports, etc. The opportunity is open for all interested volunteers between 18 and 30 years old and residents in one of the program countries or in one of the partner countries.


Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be staying in a student dormitory in Klagenfurt: You will get a room with your own bathroom; kitchen and other facilities (e.g., laundry) are shared. The student dormitory is part of bigger cultural institution Mohorjeva | Hermagoras. During the week, you can go for lunch to the canteen in a building across the street - we will provide vouchers for you. Breakfasts, dinners, and meals during the weekends will be in your responsibility. For that, you will receive appropriate monthly food allowance.


Training during the activity

During the mobility period, you will attend On-Arrival training and Mid-Term meeting organised by the Austrian national agency. While staying in Austria, we offer you either private lessons or German course, which is part of the working time. Our organisation is holding different workshops and seminars on different topics throughout the year, which also the volunteers can attend, e.g., on sustainable living, photography classes, spiritual life, bee-wax wraps workshops, etc.


Participant profile

Social and communicative abilities, orientation to help, experience in working with young people, motivation to work with social networks, independent working and other skills that can be useful for voluntary activities, e.g., crafts, design, music, sports, etc. This opportunity is open to all those interested in short-term (up to 2 months) or long-term (up to 1 year) volunteering, who are aged 18 to 30 and residents of one of the programme countries or in one of the partner countries.
