Leider bedeutet eine Behinderung in Georgien oft Stigmatisierung und Ausgrenzung aus der Gesellschaft und einen Kreislauf der Armut für ein behindertes Kind und oft für die ganze Familie. Die Organisation HEAD in Kutaissi in Georgien, arbeitet mit Energie u. Leidenschaft für die Verwirklichung der Version von einer Gesellschaft, in der alle Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Bedürfnissen und Fähigkeiten Gleichheit, Solidarität und Inklusion erleben. Für ein Leben in Würde. Dazu betreibt HEAD Tagesstätten für Menschen mit Behinderungen (hauptsächlich Kinder, aber auch Erwachsene). Ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Arbeit sind außerdem Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Advocacy für Inklusion & Menschenrechte. Als Freiwillige*r hilfst du bei Sport- und Freizeitaktivitäten (Basteln, Musizieren, Ausflüge, Sport), im Alltag und bei der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Es gibt bis zu 4 freie Stellen: zwei in Kutaissi und zwei im nahe gelegenen Baghdati. Du bist als Freiwillige*r also nicht alleine und auch eine Bewerbung im Team ist möglich. Die Freiwilligen werden gemeinsam in einer Wohnung wohnen, jede*r hat ein eigenes Zimmer. Kutaissi ist die drittgrößte Stadt Georgiens und liegt fast in der Mitte des Landes. Es gibt einen internationalen Flughafen. Andere Städte und viele Regionen Georgiens sind über Züge und Minibusse leicht zu erreichen. Trotzdem hat die Stadt einen Kleinstadt-Charakter und alles ist innerhalb der Innenstadt leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen
Training during the activity
Ausführliche Vorbereitung in Deutschland vor Ausreise und ein on-Arrival training (eine Woche) zu Beginn deines Freiwilligendienstes in Georgien. Im Verlauf des Freiwilligendiensts ein weiteres einwöchiges Seminar. Außerdem die Möglichkeit, Georgisch zu lernen.
Participant profile
Wir suchen eine engagierte und motivierte Person. Wichtig sind uns Offenheit, Aufgeschlossenheit, Freundlichkeit und Engagement. Vorerfahrungen im sozialen Bereich sind toll, aber keine Voraussetzung. Toll ist, wenn du Bereitschaft mitbringst, georgisch zu lernen. Für einen Freiwilligendienst in Georgien benötigst du aus Deutschland kein Visum. Englisch ist nicht sehr verbreitet, vor allem bei Menschen, die älter als 35 Jahre sind. Die jüngere Generation (Anfang zwanzig) kann besser Englisch. Russischkenntnisse sind hilfreich, aber auch Übersetzungs-Apps funktionieren gut. Bewerbungen im Team sind möglich und willkommen.
