Are you a young graduate interested in international relations, curious about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU represents its interests and values in Ukraine? The EU Delegation to Ukraine is offering a funded traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within its Political Section, with a tentative start on 1 October 2026.


About the Section

The Political Section develops analysis and recommendations for HQ on political developments in the country; the reform process, including the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement; Ukraine's foreign and security policies; and Russia's aggression against Ukraine and its socio-economic and geopolitical consequences. The intern is fully embedded in the section's work, with direct exposure to EU activities in Ukraine and a unique chance to understand an EU Delegation in a third country from the inside.


Main Tasks

๐Ÿ“ Contribute to and assist in preparing enlargement reporting and monitor relevant policy developments

๐Ÿ“Š Gather data and assess ongoing progress in EU integration and the wider reform process

๐Ÿ“… Participate in internal and external meetings and events and report on them


Requirements

๐ŸŽ“ Bachelor's degree in law, economics, international relations, political science, sociology or a related field, with completed or ongoing master's studies

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Very good command of Ukrainian and very good spoken and written English

๐Ÿ’ป Very good command of main IT editing and presentation software

๐Ÿค Good networking, interpersonal skills and attention to detail

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ Proven interest in EU affairs

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Knowledge of Ukraine's institutional system and political landscape

๐Ÿ“š Experience analysing legislation related to the political, economic and sociological sphere

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Experience working in a team and coordinating inputs from colleagues


Who Can Apply

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Due to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, only Ukrainian citizens currently residing in Ukraine will be considered
