The EU Delegation to Brazil is offering a funded traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within its Political, Press and Information Section, with a tentative start on 17 August 2026, under the supervision and mentoring of a trainee supervisor.


About the Traineeship

A solid, meaningful professional and learning experience in a multicultural, international work environment, spanning both communications and political work for the Delegation.


Main Tasks โ€” Communication

๐Ÿ“ฐ Monitor media coverage of EU-related topics in Brazilian and international media, preparing daily or weekly press reviews

๐Ÿ“ฑ Support social media management (drafting posts, scheduling content) on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube

๐ŸŽจ Create communication materials, including graphics, captions, newsletters, press releases, website articles and event announcements

๐Ÿ“ธ Assist with content production: photos, videos, editing short clips, and gathering material from EU-funded projects and events

๐Ÿค Support media relations: maintaining press contact lists, organising interviews, and assisting with press conferences or briefings

๐Ÿ“ฃ Contribute to campaigns on EU priorities, EU-Brazil relations, sustainability, human rights, trade, culture and education

๐Ÿ“Š Track social media performance and prepare analytics reports on engagement, reach and campaign effectiveness

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Support event communication before and after events

๐Ÿ”Ž Conduct research on public opinion, communication trends and influencers

๐ŸŒ Assist with translation and proofreading between English, Portuguese and sometimes other EU languages


Main Tasks โ€” Political

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Research Brazilian political, social, human rights and economic topics, contributing to reports and meeting minutes

๐Ÿ“‹ Assist with preparing briefings and organising meetings and events

๐Ÿค General assistance to the Political, Press and Information Section


Requirements

๐ŸŽ“ University (Bachelor's) degree in Communications, Business, Economics, Social sciences, Law, Political Science or a related field

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Very good Portuguese and English, oral and written (Spanish is not considered equivalent to Portuguese)

๐Ÿ“Š Good analytical skills

๐Ÿ“ฑ Experience in communications, social media or press-related work

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut and Lightroom

๐ŸŒ Knowledge of international relations/politics and prior diplomatic-environment experience would be an asset

โณ Less than one year of professional experience after graduation by the signing of the agreement (other traineeships, student jobs or volunteering don't count as professional experience)


Eligibility

โœ… Candidates must meet the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of Decision ADMIN(2017)28)

๐Ÿ›‚ EU Member State citizens must provide proof of cover against pandemic risk and repatriation costs, and hold the relevant entrance visa and/or temporary residence permit where applicable
