"Volunteering, connecting people" is a European Solidarity Corps project which will take place in DB Ganshoren, a residential educational youth centre close to Brussels. Next to residential care, you will also be involved in youth work, accompanying staff with different projects supporting the development of young people and children. Since belonging to the Brussels Region, the language of the service will be mainly in French, with the organisation and coordinator you will communicate in English. More specifically, the tasks of the volunteers will consist of: - Building a relationship with the children and youth living at the boarding school DB Ganshoren. - Organize cultural, sportive and educational activities for children and youth. - Support the oratory and youth center staff during their activities in the holidays and some saturdays. - Be a role model for children and youngsters that will live in the same facilities as the volunteers.
๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ Accommodation, Food and Transport Arrangements
Volunteers will be staying at DB Ganshoren. They will have a personal room with a bed, sink, wardrobe and internet connection. The volunteers will share the kitchen, living room and bathrooms with other youth. The accommodation is close to public transport and has good connections with Brussels. During the porject, the volunteer is responsible to cook on their own, for this they will receive a food allowance as well as weekly pocket money. They will have an available bike, a transport card to get around Brussels and also a discount ticket to travel around Belgium and some allowence to do so.

We are looking for two European volunteer that are close to the following profile: - +18 years old - Fluent in French, since the children in the residence do not speak other language, and able to communicate in english. - Have experience or education in working with children and youth. - Being able to work independently, but also looking for collaboration in the team and community. - Open towards other cultures and interested to have an intercultural experience - Interested in ecological and environmental project development. - Readiness and enthusiasm to have a great fun experience.
