Description

We are looking for 2 volunteers to stay with us from September and for the whole school year :) The association’s purpose is really to broadcast a creative and open minded parentality, but also to propose an alternative to classical education, opened to the world and respectful to our environnement. We have an educationnal approach based on different pedagogies: Montessori, Freinet, Steiner, pedagogy of projects and pedagogy by the nature. We also use some innovative tools like non violent communication, cooperation, emotions management…. The opening vision on the world is one of our pedagogic project’s pilar. We follow some interesting adventurer’s project to discover the world and to approach different kind of subjects like the environment, the animals, the ocean’s pollution… We love practicing foreign languages used in rituals context and discover others cultures and countries, songs, movies, cooking… We also go to the forest every friday morning to discover and learn with nature.


Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Since the school is located in a small village in the rural area, accomodation is not always easy, but always comfortable! The volunteer will share the apartment in the village of Lannemezan with another volunteer of the school. In this village there are all commerces and also a train station. To go to school, volunteers can choose to go by bike or walk (which can take some time but for the sportives is great!) or there is an schedule of car-pooling so the parents of the school can pick volunteers up and bring them to school and back to the house.


Training during the activity

Discover and learn about alternative methods for children education. Understand how work a school and how the daily life has to be organised. Learn how to create workshop with children know better how to put the child at the center of the educational project. There are also some green practices like using and cleaning the dry toilets, doing workshops and classes in the forest, recycling, etc... Infopack: soon :)


Participant profile

We are looking for 2 volunteers who are eager to learn more about alternative education and do activities with children. Some experience or knowledge in animation and an interest in the school environment and working with Children with alternative methods of education is suggested! Be ready for teamwork, a certain autonomy and an ability to adapt, and non violent communication - not to be afraid of the rural environment! Flexibility and adaptability are very important!
