Description

The European volunteer will work alongside the pedagogical and educational team of the Saint-Jean middle and vocational high school, contributing to: School and boarding facility life Support students individually, be a trusted point of contact for young residents Classroom support (reformulating instructions, refocusing students, small group work) Break time activities with the educator (recess, lunch break) School outings Subject-based contributions depending on volunteer skills: arts, music, sports, ecology (educational garden), or digital tools Homework support with the educator Co-leading language classes (Spanish and/or English)


Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

During your mission, you will receive a monthly financial compensation for pocket money, food and public transportation. You will have access to the school canteen during your mission for lunch time. All of these details will be mentionned in the volunteer agreements. It will vary depending of the length of the mission. The organisation will provide an accommodation for the future volunteer. The room will be located on the school premises. The placement is located near Paris and easily accessible by public transport. You will be two volunteers based at the boarding facility


Training during the activity

The French national agency for ESC projects will run 2 seminars in which the volunteer will be invited to take part. Also, you will have access to the OLS platform which offers online french trainings during your mission. Apprentis dโ€™Auteuil also provides training such as ยซ how to animate an activity on education for citizenship and international solidarity ยป.


Participant profile

We are looking for a young volunteer who is willing to work with young children with complex profiles. Motivated, dynamic and adaptable volunteer who likes to work in a team and who is not afraid to propose ideas. You should have a strong sense of responsibility. This mission is particularly adapted to young people who want to open up to others and human relations, and discover the social and teaching professions. The volunteer who will be involved in this mission should have a certain ability to listen and if possible should also have skills in animation and school support. We are looking for someone with at least a basic level of French, as well as basic English and/or Spanish skills.
