Description
Maintenance of a house for young people’ in Druogno, close to the Alps, is a short-term group volunteering project in European Solidarity Corps, which is carried out in the field of cooperativa Vedogiovane youth policies projects. The House is a facility in Druogno, Vigezzo Valley, it has a large park and features sports facilities. After being used in the years to welcome groups from all over the County Council, it’s time to renovate it and bring a fresh and young air in it. The project aims to renew the places of the house as renovating the soccer fields and nets, assembling the synthetic pitch, clean common areas,removing broken or worn items, storing and renew the bicycles, renovating and cleaning the 'bocce court' (tipical italian old game), painting tables and areas (proposal for artistic project are welcome!). The participants will also be involved in the local and traditional events of the community and we will also share time in hiking, waling and climbing.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will live in the House itself and will share the common areas with other groups living there in the same period. The volunteers will share the rooms only with the ESC volunteers and they’ll have the bathroom in the rooms. Each day there will be breackfast, lunch and dinner cooked from the kitchen staff. The kitchen is not accessible and it’s required participation in preparing tables, cleaning and keep common areas clean and tidy. Training during the activity
The volunteers work organized in different teams every working day, about 32 hours per week. Two days are off. Two people will lead the volunteers: one is the youth leader who will be living with the group and supporting them during the whole time; one is the house keeper who’s going to give indications and tips in collaboration with the company that is planning the general renovation of the house. Volunteers will have group meetings with the youth leader to share how the experience is going on and also individual support whenever necessary.
