Description

Roots Awakening 3.0 is a volunteering project that aims to support and develop the community and individuals through short term individual and team volunteering. The programme focuses on development of green skills and personal key competences, physical and mental health, entrepreneurial competences and participation and support for the development of the local eco-community. Activities include eco-building, eco-gardening, working with the local eco-community, helping to build and maintain the eco-centre's infrastructure, environmental conservation activities, etc.


Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in the Amorea Garden Eco-Hub, in a renovated, cosy and comfortable shared dormitory and private tents in a camping area. We are using outdoor compost toilets and solar showers. We also have a well-equipped outdoor kitchen available for volunteers. There is access to public transport - from Sofia to Bunovo village and to several towns and villages in the area. Accommodation , food and transport are fully funded . An amount of 7 โ‚ฌ/day is given to the volunteer as pocket money.

Training during the activity

- Participants will engage in eco-building projects, using natural materials and traditional building techniques to create structures that are in harmony with the environment.

- Volunteers will learn to build soil, grow and preserve organic fruits and vegetables using permaculture principles to promote biodiversity and sustainable food production.

- Participation in landscaping activities aiming to contribute to biodiversity and natural preservation

- Participation in community building activities with the local eco

- community - Green social entrepreneurship (inclusion support)

Participant profile

Applicants must be aged between 18 and 30 and willing to commit for the duration of the project (59 days). They should have a keen interest and motivation to engage in environmental initiatives and community development, and be able to adapt to rural and healthy living conditions. Previous experience as a volunteer or expertise in a related field is not a prerequisite. We guarantee equal opportunity for all candidates.
