Description
This year, Lucania Film Festival has decided to involve a team of European volunteers to strengthen the international dimension of the festival and create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange. Volunteers will support the organization of screenings, cultural events, audience engagement activities, communication, and hospitality services. Working alongside festival staff, artists, and local volunteers, they will gain practical experience in cultural management, teamwork, and event organization while contributing to a vibrant international environment that fosters active citizenship, creativity, and European values. The festival is one of the most relevant cultural events dedicated to cinema in Southern Italy, attracting filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across Europe and beyond. Organized by Allelammie, the festival promotes independent cinema, cultural participation, and intercultural dialogue while enhancing the social and creative potential of rural territories.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The apartment is located in the historic center of Pisticci and accommodates 4 international volunteers and, in an adjacent wing, local members of the Lucania Film Festival staff. Volunteers are housed in two shared double rooms. The apartment is equipped with a washing machine and all essential household appliances. Wi-Fi connection is not available!
Training during the activity
The volunteers will be trained about the activities by professional staff, get basic training about the Italian language and will be accompained in the self-reflection process for Youthpass.
Participant profile
Ideal volunteers should demonstrate: Motivation to contribute to a large international cultural event, openness to intercultural learning and teamwork in a multicultural environment, interest in cinema, arts, communication, or cultural management, flexibility and willingness to take part in different festival activities, good communication and interpersonal skills, creativity, initiative, and a proactive attitude, ability to adapt to a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced working environment, interest in community engagement and active citizenship, respect for diversity, inclusion, and European values, capacity to communicate in English. Speaking Italian would be an advantage.
