COMPASS: The Core of Outdoor Mindful Practices for Adventurous and Sustainable Self
Dates: 5th – 14th June 2026
Location: Jeseníky Mountains, Czechia
COMPASS is an intensive, 8-day experiential training course designed to promote personal resilience and inner sustainability through Adventure Education and mental well-being. This is a digital-free, "off-the-grid" experience where participants will switch off their devices to reconnect with their senses and natural resources.
Target audience:
This offer is specifically targeted at youth workers, educators, mentors, NGO staff members, and leaders working in the field of non-formal learning who are looking to expand their professional toolkit. It is ideal for those motivated to re-engage passive youth, combat digital burnout, and lead with empathy.
Core activities & methodology:
The program follows a "learning by doing" approach, combining demanding physical challenges with deep, guided reflection. Key activities include:
Living on the move: Living in constant motion through the mountains, carrying essentials, and setting up camp in different natural settings each day.
Physical challenges: Trekking (mountain ascent), canoeing adventures, high ropes, and a symbolic firewalk.
Mindfulness & reflection: Guided debriefing, practical mindfulness, and creative mind-mapping to build crisis management skills.
Shared leadership: Managing a nomadic lifestyle together, from team budget planning to shared cooking and low-impact living.
Training goals:
1) Strengthen personal resilience: Building emotional and physical endurance to prevent professional burnout.
2) Master adventure education: Acquiring a professional toolkit to use adventure and nature as educational tools.
3) Crisis management: Learning to hold space for others and navigate professional or personal failures with compassion.
4) Celebrating diversity: Joining an international network to share best practices and celebrate personal uniqueness.
Practical Information:
Accommodation: Provided in tents; participants must bring their own sleeping bag and outdoor mat.
Zero-Waste lifestyle: The group practices zero-waste habits
Policy: No-drugs and no-alcohol policy applies throughout the entire training.

Zero Waste Charity Shop: A local hub that promotes a circular economy by giving items a second life and using proceeds to support community needs
Youth Work & Education: Narana is highly active in the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programs, hosting international volunteers and organizing training courses (like COMPASS) for youth workers.
