This funded traineeship at the EU Delegation to Mongolia is for young graduates who combine strong language skills in both English and Mongolian with a genuine interest in EU diplomacy and international development.

The EU Delegation to Mongolia works across political reporting, strategic communication, public diplomacy, and cooperation programme management โ€” representing EU interests and values in Mongolia and engaging on issues from youth to EU-funded development projects.


What Is This Traineeship?

funded traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) of the EU Delegation to Mongolia. Tentative start date: June or July 2026.


Main Tasks

๐Ÿ“ข Supporting the PPI and Cooperation sections in the organisation, preparation, and implementation of EU communication, strategic communication, and public diplomacy activities โ€” in particular on issues related to youth and EU-funded projects โ€” and proposing new activities

๐Ÿ“‹ Updating and maintaining concise project overviews and factsheets on EU-funded projects

โœ๏ธ Drafting written content โ€” social media posts, press releases, memos, reports, and more

๐ŸŽช Assisting in the preparation of meetings and events โ€” practical arrangements and meeting minutes as required

๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ Assisting in the preparation of the weekly press review and weekly political updates by monitoring daily incoming news and information

๐ŸŒ Assisting the PPI and Cooperation sections with participation in COP17 if and when needed

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Contributing to administrative tasks โ€” translations, letters, filing, delivery of letters to external parties, and similar

๐Ÿค Helping the Head of PPI Section and colleagues with other emerging tasks in their fields of responsibility


Who Should Apply?

๐Ÿ”น University degree in political sciences, linguistics, business administration, social studies, international relations, international development, European affairs, journalism, communications, project management, law, public financial management/economics, agriculture, forestry, renewable energy, or similar discipline

๐Ÿ”น Good analytical skills and capacity to formulate them in a structured manner

๐Ÿ”น Ability and willingness to work in an international environment

๐Ÿ”น Ability to deliver good quality work output under tight deadlines

๐Ÿ”น Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages

๐Ÿ”น Excellent English and Mongolian language skills โ€” both required

๐Ÿ”น Initiative, flexibility, good organisational skills, and team player attitude โ€” an advantage

๐Ÿ”น Has less than one year of professional experience after graduation by the signing date of the Traineeship agreement

โš ๏ธ Other traineeships, student jobs, or volunteering work carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience for this criterion.


Grant & Financial Conditions

๐Ÿ’ถ Monthly grant provided to cover living expenses

โš ๏ธ All costs related to travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

For EU Member State citizens:

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Must provide proof of coverage against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation

๐Ÿชช Must hold a relevant entrance visa and/or temporary residence permit where applicable โ€” based on the traineeship agreement, its duration, and compliance with local legislation

โš ๏ธ The traineeship can only be offered in compliance with local legislation and the legislation of the country of origin.
