This funded traineeship at the EU Delegation to Tanzania is for young graduates ready to contribute to real diplomatic work from day one.

The EU Delegation to Tanzania works across political analysis, coordination with EU Member States, public diplomacy, and strategic communication — supporting EU interests and values in Tanzania while advancing bilateral relations on democracy, human rights, youth, and governance.

What Is This Traineeship?

A funded 6-month traineeship within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) of the EU Delegation to Tanzania.

📅 Start date: 10 August 2026

📅 End date: 9 February 2027

Main Tasks

🏛️ Political Analysis & Reporting

📊 Analysing and reporting on political developments in Tanzania

✍️ Supporting the Section's work on key areas including democracy, human rights, and youth

📝 Drafting documents including speeches, briefings, reports, and Note Verbales

🔍 Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on political, governance, and related developments

🤝 Coordination & Representation

🏢 Liaising closely with EU Member States Embassies in Tanzania

🎤 Attending meetings and events

✈️ Assisting in organising official visits and diplomatic functions

🌐 Facilitating outreach to the Tanzanian government as required

📢 Visibility & Public Diplomacy

🌍 Supporting public diplomacy initiatives to advance EU-Tanzania relations

📣 Promoting EU interests and enhancing EU visibility in the country

💬 Contributing to strategic communication efforts — working with the Section's Press and Information Officer

🎪 Assisting in organising public events, workshops, and communication campaigns

Who Should Apply?

🔹 Young graduate with at least a Bachelor's diploma or equivalent

🔹 Excellent level of English

🔹 No previous experience of more than six weeks in EU institutions

🔹 Has less than one year of professional experience after graduation by the signing date of the Traineeship agreement

⚠️ Other traineeships, student jobs, or volunteering work carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience for this criterion.

Grant & Financial Conditions

💶 Monthly grant provided to cover living expenses — contact the Delegation for the exact amount

⚠️ All costs related to travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

For EU Member State citizens:

🛡️ Must provide proof of coverage against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation

🪪 Must hold a relevant entrance visa and/or temporary residence permit where applicable — based on the traineeship agreement, its duration, and compliance with local legislation

⚠️ The traineeship can only be offered in compliance with local legislation and the legislation of the country of origin.
