🇵🇹 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Portugal ♻️ Plastic Recycling, Digital Tools & Sustainable Living at ReShape Youth 🌍

Did you know that plastic waste that has lost its function can be reused? And that digital tools can play a real role in protecting the environment? This youth exchange is built around exactly those questions — bringing together young people from six countries in Évora, Portugal, to explore conscious plastic use, recycling, and practical skills for a sustainable lifestyle.

Rising Youth PT is organising ReShape Youth — Recycle Plastic Waste and Shape the Future — an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange taking place in Évora, Portugal, from 19 to 26 July 2026. The project brings together participants aged 18 to 30 from Portugal, Romania, Türkiye, Ukraine, Greece, and Latvia.

What Is This Project About?

ReShape Youth responds to one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time — plastic pollution. Through workshops, seminars, and intercultural exchange, participants will learn the benefits of recycling, understand the environmental impact of plastic production, and gain practical tools for a more sustainable everyday life. Digital platforms and tools are a central part of the approach.

Aims

💻 Convey the role of digital platforms and tools in reducing plastic consumption and expanding recycling processes

🧭 Strengthen participants' leadership and organisational skills — encouraging effective and sustainable solutions to plastic pollution

🌍 Strengthen intercultural collaboration and enable young people from different countries to develop common, innovative, and applicable solutions

♻️ Promote plastic recycling not as a necessity but as a way to conserve a valuable resource — offering methods for individual and societal behavioural change

🔹 Committed to disseminating outcomes back home after the project

🔹 Diversity and inclusion are a priority in participant selection

Important Commitments

📊 Fill in a survey sent by email before and after the project

📢 Prepare a dissemination activity after the project and share it on your and your sending organisation's accounts and website

🌍 Prepare a cultural night presentation for your country — bring snacks, food, drinks, and small souvenirs

🏛️ Research Erasmus+ and the project topic beforehand — be ready to present ideas, lead energisers, and contribute actively

🎁 Bring a mug meaningful to you or featuring motifs from your country — for the mug exchange activity

⚠️ Full attendance at all activities is required for travel reimbursement.

The Venue — Pousada de Évora dos SSAP

📍 R. do Raimundo 112, 7000-661 Évora, Portugal

🏠 Shared gender-based dormitory with air conditioning, WiFi, towels, and mini storage space

🍽️ 3 meals per day and coffee break with snacks between sessions

🌡️ Évora in July is very hot and sunny — temperatures often reach 30–38°C. Bring light clothes, sunscreen, a swimsuit, hat, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle

🧴 Bring your own personal hygiene items — toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, hairdryer, and slippers/sandals

Getting to Évora

🚇 From Lisbon Airport: take the Red Metro Line (Linha Vermelha) to Oriente — buy a Viva Viagem card (€0.50) and load €1.80

🚌 From Oriente: bus (Rede Expressos / FlixBus) — €3 to €9, approximately 1 hour 40 minutes

🚂 Or direct train from Oriente to Évora — approximately 1.5 hours, around €12 — book at www.cp.pt

🚶 From Évora bus or train station: 10-minute walk to the venue

Insurance

🛡️ EU/Schengen residents: bring a valid EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) — must be valid until your return

🛡️ Turkish residents: arrange a Travel Health Insurance valid until your return

⚠️ EHIC is NOT a travel insurance policy. Health and travel insurance for the full duration is strongly recommended.

⚠️ Do NOT purchase tickets before receiving confirmation. Taxis and private cars are not covered. Only cheapest available transport is reimbursed. Keep all tickets, boarding passes, and invoices as PDF files — screenshots not accepted.
