Youth organisations working in Human Rights Education rarely have the luxury of separate teams for facilitation, administration, and project management. The same people do all of it. This training course is built around that reality โ€” and designed to help you do all of it better.

Libre-pensadores de La Sierra de Madrid (LPS) is organising Cycle Up โ€” a Training of Trainers focused on Human Rights Education, project management, and advanced facilitation competences. Taking place in Cercedilla, Spain, the course brings together 25 youth workers, trainers, and project managers from across Europe and beyond, with a clear aim: to create a new generation of versatile, 360ยฐ professionals in the HRE field.

What Is This Training About?

The core conviction behind Cycle Up is straightforward โ€” multidisciplinary teams reach their full potential only when their members have a holistic understanding of the projects they lead. The training bridges the gap between administrative excellence and educational impact, equipping participants with tools for both. Everything is covered by Erasmus+ and the training is completely free.

Objectives

๐ŸŒฟ Gain a deeper understanding of Human Rights, Peace, non-violence, conflict, and conflict transformation as a framework for HRE activities

๐Ÿค Empower participants to join the HRE practitioner's community by proposing new activities at local, regional, or European levels

๐Ÿ“š Understand the basics of non-formal education based on the experiential learning cycle

๐Ÿงฐ Build the interdisciplinary framework of competencies for trainers, facilitators, and project managers

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Learn and practise how to design a project, educational programme, and session outlines

๐Ÿ’ป Explore the digital toolkit needed to manage administration, logistics, education, and evaluation of a training course

๐ŸŽ“ Gain knowledge of basic non-formal education methods including reflection groups and evaluation tools

๐Ÿ“‹ Facilitate the design of at least 6 follow-up educational activities aimed at transforming local conflicts

๐ŸŒ Create a sustainable European network of trainers, project managers, and facilitators committed to HRE

Who Should Apply?

๐Ÿ”น People looking to become a trainer and organise their own training course in Human Rights Education

๐Ÿ”น Managers of youth organisations or training activities who want to gain a pedagogical perspective

How It Works

The training is based entirely on non-formal education principles โ€” voluntary, participatory, learner-centred, and holistic. It is experience-based and action-oriented, starting from the actual needs of the participants. Follow-up activities are planned as part of the process โ€” learning does not end when the training does.
