Hei! I’m Anna, a 24-year-old from Poland, and I spent 10 incredible months volunteering in Finland through the European Solidarity Corps. My project focused on environmental education, and it was an experience I’ll never forget! 🌿📚
🌲 What I Did
In Finland’s beautiful forests and eco-centers, I worked with a team to teach children about sustainability. We organized outdoor workshops, tree-planting days 🌳, and even built birdhouses with local schools!
One of my favorite activities was a “Zero Waste Week Challenge,” where we helped families learn how to reduce waste in creative ways. Seeing the excitement and curiosity on the kids’ faces was the best reward. ♻️✨
❄️ Life in Finland
Living in Finland was like stepping into a fairytale! From cozying up in wooden cabins during snowy winters to experiencing the magic of the Northern Lights, it was unforgettable. Oh, and let’s not forget the sauna culture—an essential part of Finnish life that I came to love! 🧖♀️🔥
💡 What I Learned
This experience taught me so much! I gained leadership skills, confidence in public speaking, and a deeper appreciation for nature. Most importantly, I discovered how powerful small actions can be when it comes to protecting our planet. 🌍💚
Volunteering through the ESC wasn’t just a program for me—it was a life-changing adventure. If you’re ready to grow, learn, and make a difference, trust me, the ESC is the perfect opportunity! 🌟
