The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) international headquarters in Brussels, Belgium is looking for a Multimedia and Visual Communication Trainee to join its communications team. ESN is the largest student network in Europe, active in over 500 higher education institutions across 44 countries and supporting student mobility since 1989. This Erasmus+ traineeship is centred on visual content creation and multimedia production โ€” from graphic design and video to social media and publications โ€” putting your creative skills at the heart of one of Europe’s most prominent youth organisations.

๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Brussels is not only the political capital of the European Union but also a world-class hub for graphic design, illustration, and visual arts โ€” home to internationally recognised comic art traditions, the BD (bande dessinรฉe) museum, and a thriving creative industries scene that attracts designers and visual communicators from across the globe.

What Will You Do?

๐ŸŽจ Graphic Design: Create visual materials for digital and print promotion โ€” including campaign assets, infographics, event visuals, and branded content โ€” that communicate ESN’s activities and values across Europe.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Social Media Management & Content: Manage and produce content for ESN’s social media channels โ€” TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Bluesky โ€” with a focus on visual storytelling and audience engagement.
๐Ÿ“ท Photography & Video: Work with photography and video production to document ESN events and activities, creating multimedia content that brings the organisation’s story to life.
โœ๏ธ Copywriting & Editorial: Write and produce news articles for ESN.org and the Erasmus Generation Blog, supporting the organisation’s editorial voice alongside its visual output.
๐Ÿ“– Publications: Contribute to ESN’s official publications, including the Annual Report, through visual design and content production that reflects the organisation’s impact and reach.
๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Visual communication is now the dominant language of digital media โ€” studies show that content with strong visuals receives up to 94% more engagement than text-only content. For organisations like ESN, which communicate across dozens of countries and cultures, the role of a skilled multimedia communicator is more strategically important than ever.
