🌍 About the Scholarship
The Romania Government Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded study opportunity offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania for international students from non-EU countries who wish to pursue higher education in Romania.
Each year, the Romanian government selects international students with strong academic records and provides financial support to study at accredited universities across Romania. The scholarship allows selected candidates to enroll in Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree programs.
Applications will open on 16 February 2026 and close on 31 March 2026, and submissions must be completed through the official Study in Romania scholarship platform.

📊 Applicants must have strong academic results (minimum average grade of 7 or “Good”)
🎓 Applicants who already benefit from another Romanian state scholarship for the same study cycle cannot apply
📖 Bachelor’s and Master’s students must study in Romanian (preparatory language year provided if needed)
🔬 PhD applicants must obtain written agreement from a doctoral supervisor and pass the admission interview
The following applicants are not eligible:
⚠️ Individuals who requested or obtained protection in Romania
⚠️ Diplomatic staff or technical staff of diplomatic missions accredited in Romania
⚠️ Staff of international organizations based in Romania and their family members
⚠️ Stateless persons whose stay in Romania is officially recognized by law

📄 Copy of baccalaureate diploma or equivalent with official translation
📄 Copies of Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD diplomas (if applicable) with authorized translations
📄 Academic transcripts of completed studies with authorized translations
📄 Birth certificate with authorized translation
📄 Copy of the first three pages of a valid passport
📄 Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English, French or Romanian
For PhD applicants, additional documents are required:
📄 Letter of intent including research proposal
📄 Written agreement from a doctoral supervisor
📄 List of scientific works
Additional documents may include:
📄 Certificate proving completion of Romanian language preparatory year (if applicable)
📄 Proof of name change (if applicable)
📄 Certificate of completion of final exam (if diploma not yet issued)
📄 Parental consent for applicants under 18 years old
