๐ About the Scholarship
The Romania Government Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded study opportunity offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania for international students from non-EU countries who wish to pursue higher education in Romania.
Each year, the Romanian government selects international students with strong academic records and provides financial support to study at accredited universities across Romania. The scholarship allows selected candidates to enroll in Bachelorโs, Masterโs, or PhD degree programs.
Applications will open on 16 February 2026 and close on 31 March 2026, and submissions must be completed through the official Study in Romania scholarship platform.

๐ Applicants must have strong academic results (minimum average grade of 7 or โGoodโ)
๐ Applicants who already benefit from another Romanian state scholarship for the same study cycle cannot apply
๐ Bachelorโs and Masterโs students must study in Romanian (preparatory language year provided if needed)
๐ฌ PhD applicants must obtain written agreement from a doctoral supervisor and pass the admission interview
The following applicants are not eligible:
โ ๏ธ Individuals who requested or obtained protection in Romania
โ ๏ธ Diplomatic staff or technical staff of diplomatic missions accredited in Romania
โ ๏ธ Staff of international organizations based in Romania and their family members
โ ๏ธ Stateless persons whose stay in Romania is officially recognized by law

๐ Copy of baccalaureate diploma or equivalent with official translation
๐ Copies of Bachelorโs, Masterโs or PhD diplomas (if applicable) with authorized translations
๐ Academic transcripts of completed studies with authorized translations
๐ Birth certificate with authorized translation
๐ Copy of the first three pages of a valid passport
๐ Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English, French or Romanian
For PhD applicants, additional documents are required:

๐ Written agreement from a doctoral supervisor
๐ List of scientific works
Additional documents may include:
๐ Certificate proving completion of Romanian language preparatory year (if applicable)
