Description
Join the Italian Red Cross Committee of Calvisano and become part of a team working every day to support people facing social and economic challenges. As an ESC volunteer, you will contribute to health education initiatives, youth activities, food aid distribution, community support services, social inclusion programmes for people with disabilities, and outreach activities for homeless people. Working alongside local volunteers, you will help strengthen solidarity within the community while gaining valuable experience in the social and humanitarian field. This project takes place in a small town in Northern Italy, offering a unique opportunity to experience authentic local life, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to activities that have a real impact on people’s lives. Together, we can promote inclusion, active citizenship and everyday solidarity.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will share a fully equipped apartment in Calvisano, within walking distance of the Red Cross headquarters. The accommodation includes shared bedrooms, Wi Fi, a kitchen, laundry facilities and common living spaces. Volunteers receive a monthly food allowance and can prepare their own meals independently. A transport allowance is also provided to cover local travel. Calvisano is well connected to Brescia by train, making it easy to explore the region and access additional services and opportunities.
Training during the activity
Throughout the project, you will be supported in your personal and professional growth through regular meetings with a tutor and mentor, giving you space to reflect on your experience, share challenges and celebrate achievements. You will have access to Italian language learning opportunities, the ESC Training and Evaluation Cycle, and guidance in identifying the skills you develop along the way. Together, we will work on your Youthpass and Europass, helping you turn this volunteering experience into a valuable learning journey for your future.

We are looking for motivated, curious and open-minded young people who are eager to engage with the local community and contribute to social impact activities. No specific qualifications or previous experience are required. We value empathy, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, teamwork and respect for diversity. If you enjoy meeting new people, supporting vulnerable groups and discovering everyday life in a small Italian community, this opportunity is for you. Volunteers should be ready to take initiative, adapt to new situations and actively participate in community life. Knowledge of Italian is not required, but it is a plus, as it can help volunteers integrate more easily and feel more confident in a small local community.
