Description
Make a meaningful difference in Morocco!
Two volunteers will spend 10 months in Jerada and the Agadir–Al Haouz region, contributing to educational and psychosocial activities with children and communities affected by the earthquake. Activities take place from Monday to Friday.
Prepare & Create – Volunteers will develop creative and participatory activities designed to support children’s well-being and resilience, while preparing practical tools and methods for field activities.
Act & Connect – Volunteers will bring these activities directly to children in earthquake-affected communities, creating safe and engaging spaces for learning, expression, creativity and connection.
Reflect & Share – Volunteers will also evaluate their activities, reflect on their impact and help document and share the project results.
This is a 10-month journey to learn, contribute, experience Moroccan culture, connect with local communities and turn solidarity into meaningful action.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay in shared apartments with other volunteers, while each volunteer will have their own private room — offering both community life and personal space during the 10-month experience. Local transport to and from the activity sites will be provided by ISAAF. Volunteers will receive a food allowance of €10 per day to manage their own meals, as well as €500 pocket money per month for personal expenses. Travel costs to and from Morocco will also be covered according to ESC rules.
Training during the activity
Your learning journey starts even before you arrive in Morocco! 🇲🇦 Volunteers will receive pre-departure and on-arrival training to help them feel prepared and confident for their 10-month experience. The training will cover the local context and culture, living and working conditions, the activities of ISAAF, safety and security measures, and practical guidance for everyday life. Throughout the activity, volunteers will also receive ongoing training, guidance and support to help them adapt, develop their skills and make the most of their experience.
Participant profile
For Individual Volunteering, candidates must be 18–35 years old and legally reside in an eligible country (EU Member States, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Türkiye). Applicants must have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and must not have previously participated in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. The total duration of this activity together with previous participation in EU volunteering programmes cannot exceed 12 months.
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need to be an expert — what matters most is your motivation, empathy and willingness to learn and contribute.
We are looking for open-minded, compassionate and proactive volunteers who are genuinely ready to commit to a 10-month experience in Morocco and become part of a different cultural and community environment.
This opportunity is particularly suitable for people interested in education, community work, social work, child development, non-formal learning and activities supporting children’s well-being and resilience.
Experience in teaching, facilitation, youth work or working with children is an advantage, but not mandatory. Creativity and skills in areas such as arts, music, sports, storytelling or other educational activities are also very welcome!
We especially value volunteers who are adaptable, culturally sensitive, responsible and comfortable working as part of a team. Clear and respectful communication, patience and willingness to take initiative will be important throughout the experience.
