This is a an Adventure and Outdoor Education Training course for Youth Work Professionals for develping personal nature connection and partnerships building around the themes of nature activities.

ℹ️ Description About The Opportunity
Roots & Routes is an international professional training programme grounded in adventure
and outdoor education. The training focuses on strengthening participants’ personal nature
connection as a foundation for pedagogical work with young people. Through experiential
learning, reflection, and nature-based methods, participants deepen their professional
competences in outdoor education, well-being, inclusion, and sustainable youth work.

Metsäkartano as an outdoor pedagogy youth center in rural Eastern Finland is hosting this training course. Metsäkartano holds an annual Erasmus+ accreditation budget for youth exchanges and youth workers mobility activities as well as European Solidarity Corps quality label for coordinating, hosting and sending volunteers.
Metsäkartano's main target groups in its international work are rural youth and youth workers, and especially youth belonging to different minorities (e.g. queer, immigrant and refugee youth). Metsäkartano focus on social youth work and youth workers working with these target groups.
In near future Metsäkartano is also interested to develop internationally its camp schools and working with families which both are the core work of Metsäkartano as well.
If you find commonalities in Metsäkartano's and your works, welcome to join our training course and get to know our organisation! This training will also be a kind of Partnership Building Activity as all participants will see the Metsäkartano venue and meet other participants from all over Europe.

Our Metsäkartano location is unique. Nature embraces you right from the doorstep. There’s plenty to do all year round, in any weather. Adventure, exploring nature, arts and crafts, or diverse physical activities are all available. Guests are served by the cheerful and skilled staff, including the youth work professionals experienced in working with children and experienced working with participants with different needs and abilities.
Metsäkartano is a large complex of different accommodations with nearly 200 beds, different meeting and activity rooms, sport facilities for indoor and outdoor sports and many saunas and sand beaches. The area is surrounded by Tiilikkajärvi National Park famous for rough wilderness type of nature and its forest animals. To arrive to Metsäkartano you normally need to travel exceptionally long, but it is always 100% worth it. It is a place where our participants often say that you can ground and connect with the nature in such a level which is very unique in this busy world. In this training course we also prioritise applicants who travel green, meaning travelmainly by land - if you cannot follow this wish, please explain it in your application.
