If you work with young people and want practical, real-world ways to make your activities more inclusive, ID Talks: Social Sport is a free series of five online workshops running from 9 September to 4 November 2026, hosted on Zoom by the SALTO Inclusion & Diversity Resource Centre within the Erasmus+ Youth programme. At Youth Works Hub, we went through the full programme so you know exactly what each session covers, who the speakers are, and how to join. Registration is free, each session lasts 90 minutes, and you can earn a Youthpass certificate.

What Are the ID Talks?

The ID Talks are a series of standalone online workshops on inclusion and diversity (ID) topics in youth work. Each talk features inspiring guest speakers, thought-provoking insights, small-group discussions and a Q&A, and lasts no more than 90 minutes. Every session begins with an input from the guest speaker, after which participants join the discussion, ask questions and share their own realities and experiences.

The talks bring together youth workers, professionals and volunteers from all over the world to share insights, research findings, food for thought, good practices and inspirational stories. They guide participants through the pressing challenges affecting inclusion and diversity, and inspire them to make their programmes and organisations more inclusive.

This Season's Theme: Social Sport

For autumn 2026, the whole series focuses on social sport โ€” what it means, why it matters, and how it promotes inclusion, social cohesion and skills development. Social sport is used across youth work, education and community development as a powerful non-formal learning tool that addresses social challenges and creates positive change.

In the words of the organisers, social sport boosts inclusion and builds real-life skills, strengthening cooperation, respect, health and active citizenship, and it often reaches target groups that other methods do not.

For this season, the SALTO Inclusion & Diversity Resource Centre partners with the Erasmus+ National Agencies' YouSports project, which understands social sport as:

๐ŸŽฏ an educational tool for added value

๐ŸŽ‰ focused on the experience, as well as winning

๐Ÿ˜„ engaging and fun

๐Ÿชž reflecting on the learning

๐Ÿ”„ transferring competences to other real-life situations

๐ŸŒฑ a process for individual development and community impact

How the Sessions Work

The ID Talks are a series of five online workshops on five major topics. Each begins with an input from the guest speakers, followed by open discussion where you engage, ask questions and share your own experiences and realities. Because every talk is self-contained, you can pick only the topics relevant to your work.

Who Is It For?

The ID Talks are designed for youth workers, youth leaders, professionals and volunteers involved in inclusion and diversity in the EU youth programmes, as well as anyone interested in youth work and inclusion and diversity topics. The organisers specifically recommend the series for:

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Youth workers, trainers, youth leaders and youth project managers

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Youth policy makers and youth researchers

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Volunteering mentors and youth coaches

๐Ÿ’ก All those interested in the topic

Why Should You Join?

โœจ Get food for thought and learn from inspirational inclusion and diversity stories

๐Ÿ“š Learn about ID topics from the youth work sector and beyond

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Gain information, inspiration and methods to help the youth sector address inclusion

๐ŸŒ Add more quality to your (international) youth work

๐Ÿงฉ Identify and learn how to tackle existing and future ID challenges

What You Get After Each Session

One of the strongest reasons to follow the series is that nothing is lost if you miss a live talk. According to Youth Works Hub's review of the SALTO resource pages, for each talk the organisers publish:

๐Ÿ“น Full video recordings on YouTube

๐Ÿ“ Written articles by the guest speakers

๐ŸŽจ Graphic recordings (visual summaries)

๐ŸŽง Podcast versions (Spotify, Apple, Google Podcasts, Spreaker)

๐Ÿ“– An ID Talks Magazine compiling all the articles in one publication

Cost

๐Ÿ’ถ There is no participation fee. Registration is completely free of charge. As the sessions are online, accommodation, food and travel reimbursement do not apply, so you simply join from your own device.

Youthpass Certificate

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, recognising the competences they develop during the activity. If you are new to how this recognition tool works and what it certifies, this guide breaks it down.
