🌍 About the Project

Become part of the Portuguese Red Cross family and make a real impact in a small rural community in Northern Portugal!

As a volunteer, you’ll support a wide range of social and community-based activities:
👵 Spending time with elderly people
🎨 Organizing creative, sports & educational activities
🍲 Helping prepare and distribute meals
🌱 Supporting a permaculture farming project at a local school
🚚 Collecting and organizing food & clothing donations
🏡 Helping maintain the local Pilgrim Shelter

This experience offers an authentic insight into community life, where every day brings something new and meaningful.

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport

🏠 Shared apartment within walking distance (10–20 minutes) from work sites
🍽️ Monthly allowance of €330 for food and personal expenses
🧳 Travel arranged when necessary + full ESC health insurance
💬 Free Portuguese language course provided

🎓 Training & Mentorship

📘 On-site guidance and step-by-step task support
🎓 On-arrival and mid-term trainings by the Portuguese National Agency
💡 Access to learning opportunities and personal project development support

👥 Participant Profile

✔ Aged 18–30 and available for the full project duration
✔ Able to communicate in English (Portuguese is a plus)
✔ Active, adaptable, and team-oriented
✔ Motivated to contribute to the Red Cross mission and community life
✔ Open to manual, creative, and outdoor work
