🇨🇿 Erasmus+ Training Course in Czech Republic 🌲 Naturefunny — Nature, Outdoor & Sport for Youth Workers in the Jeseníky Mountains 🧭

Screens are up. Time outdoors is down. Basic outdoor skills are fading — and the generation that will pay the price is the one youth workers are working with right now. Naturefunny is an Erasmus+ training course that takes youth workers deep into the Jeseníky Mountains of Czech Republic to reconnect with nature, build practical outdoor skills, and leave with ready-to-use session formats they can implement directly in their work.

🏔️ About the Project

Organised by EraYouth, Naturefunny takes place in Rejvíz — a remote mountain village surrounded by forests near Jeseník in the Czech Republic. The programme mixes active and restorative blocks throughout the week, combining orienteering, wildlife exploration, team sport games, nature art, yoga, and optional outdoor adventure — including the possibility of sleeping under the stars in nearby castle ruins.

The philosophy is simple: youth workers and teachers shape the habits of the next generation. This training gives them the non-formal methods and practical outdoor tools to actually do that well.

📋 What the Programme Includes

🧭 Orienteering and navigation in a natural forest setting

🦊 Wildlife exploration and nature observation activities

⚽ Team sport games and cooperative outdoor challenges

🎨 Nature art — creative expression using natural materials

🗺️ Treasure hunt — team-building through outdoor problem-solving

🧘 Yoga and restorative practices for balance within an intensive programme

🌙 Optional outdoor adventure — sleeping under the stars at nearby castle ruins

💧 Day visit to the Priessnitz Spa in Jeseník — linking water, nature, and cold-water therapy

🛠️ Activity design session — participants design and test their own outdoor activities, leaving with formats ready to implement in their youth work

🎯 Background & Purpose

Across Europe, growing rates of screen time, indoor lifestyles, and physical inactivity — particularly among children — are directly linked to declining health and weakening connections to the natural world. Youth workers are a critical part of the response.

EraYouth builds on a track record of nature-based solidarity projects — from planting 1,200 trees in bark-beetle damaged areas (Together for Trees, 2024), to using motion-sensitive cameras so children could observe local wildlife (Together for the Forest, 2025), to their ongoing Together into the Forest (2026) project supporting litter collection, sustainable fishing, and wildlife observation.

Naturefunny is the training course dimension of this ongoing commitment — equipping professionals with the methods to carry this work into their own communities.
