Interns will support two major research assignments aligned with UN Womenโ€™s normative and programmatic work in Indonesia, gaining deep exposure to national gender machinery, male engagement initiatives, and gender-responsive governance systems.

๐Ÿ” Research on National Gender Machinery (Indonesia)
๐Ÿ“š Desk review of CEDAW Concluding ObservationsBPfA+30 National Review, and national policy frameworks
๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Mapping ministries, institutions, and internal gender mechanisms (focal points, task forces, working groups)
๐Ÿ“‘ Compilation of key policies, strategies, programmes, and budget allocations
๐Ÿค Mapping partners across government, civil society, academia, private sector, and subnational levels
โœ… Verification of legal and policy references (Presidential & Ministerial regulations)

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Research on Male Engagement & Positive Masculinities
๐Ÿง  Analysis of national models engaging men and boys in gender equality
๐Ÿ“˜ Review of training modules, curricula, and intervention strategies
๐Ÿ”Ž Identification of promising practices, gaps, and opportunities
๐Ÿš“ Support exploration of collaboration pathways with law enforcement institutions

๐ŸŽ“ Education (required)
Applicants must meet one of the following:
โœ”๏ธ Enrolled in a graduate programme (Masterโ€™s or PhD)
โœ”๏ธ Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelorโ€™s degree
โœ”๏ธ Graduated (must start internship within 2 years of graduation)
โœ”๏ธ Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship linked to a degree programme

Relevant fields include:
Gender Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Law, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.
