This European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering opportunity is implemented by STICHTING UCDEAN in cooperation with Askvoll Frivilligsentral, a volunteer service owned by the municipality of Askvoll, Norway ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ด.
The project combines community support, social inclusion, and outdoor lifestyle, offering volunteers a unique chance to live and work in a small coastal municipality on Norwayโ€™s west coast while engaging with people of all ages.

Volunteers contribute to a wide range of educational, social, cultural, and intergenerational activities, while experiencing Norwegian coastal culture, nature, and everyday life.

๐ŸŽฏ Main Activities & Responsibilities
๐Ÿ‘ถ Supporting activities in the local kindergarten and school
โ˜• Assisting with a language cafรฉ and integration activities
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Helping in a second-hand shop and community initiatives
๐Ÿ‘ต Providing entertainment and support at the elderly home
๐ŸŽจ Organising craft workshops and cultural activities
๐Ÿฅ— Supporting food delivery services for elderly people
๐Ÿ’ป Assisting with digital learning platforms for seniors
๐Ÿ“š Supporting community activities at the local library and youth projects
๐ŸŒ Engaging in local volunteering networks and social initiatives

In addition, volunteers are encouraged to explore outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and enjoying fjords, mountains, and coastal nature.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Private bedroom with shared kitchen, laundry, and social areas
๐Ÿงบ Fully equipped apartment with bed linens, towels, and kitchen tools
๐Ÿšฒ Bicycle provided for daily use
๐ŸšŒ Work-related transport costs fully covered
๐Ÿš— Access to a car for leisure purposes (driving licence is a strong advantage)

๐Ÿค Continuous support from a personal supervisor
๐Ÿ“˜ On-Arrival Training for all ESC volunteers in Norway (November)
๐Ÿฅพ Social programme including hikes, cultural activities, and networking
๐Ÿ”„ Mid-Term Training usually held in February
๐ŸŒฑ Strong focus on personal development, skills, and competence building
