This six-month hybrid internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the UN’s global communication strategies, support multilingual outreach, and help create engaging content for millions of followers across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).

You’ll be part of the Social Media Section, Communications Campaigns Service, collaborating with communication professionals to promote UN values, events, and campaigns in the Portuguese-speaking world. 🌍📱


🎯 Main Responsibilities

💬 Research, draft, and edit social media content in English and Portuguese
📸 Gather and curate multimedia content at UN events (film screenings, exhibitions, concerts, etc.)
📈 Monitor and analyse performance statistics for digital content
🎨 Create original visual materials using Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, or Adobe Photoshop
🗒️ Manage meeting agendas and draft notes
🤝 Support special communication projects and assist the digital campaigns team

🎓 Qualifications

🎓 Enrolled in, or recently completed:

  • graduate degree (Master’s or equivalent), or
  • The final year of a Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement)

💡 Skills & Experience:

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (required)
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, or Adobe Photoshop
  • Interest or experience in photography and digital storytelling
  • Strong written communication skills and creativity under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations
