🌍 About the Internship
The UNICEF Office of Internal Audit and Investigations (OIAI) is offering a paid internship opportunity with its Investigations Section (Digital Forensics) team.
Interns will contribute to UNICEF’s global efforts to ensure transparency, ethics, and accountability in humanitarian and development operations.
You’ll work at the intersection of technology, digital forensics, and investigations, supporting UNICEF’s mission to protect children and uphold integrity across 190+ countries.
📍 Internship Details
- Duty Station: New York Headquarters (preferred, in-person) or Remote

🧩 Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Investigation Manager, you will:
💻 Assist in processing and analysing electronic evidence via eDiscovery platforms
⚙️ Research and develop automation solutions for evidence processing
📊 Create and automate business intelligence reports using Microsoft tools
🔎 Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) searches
🧠 Develop digital workflows in Microsoft ecosystems (PowerShell, PowerBI, etc.)
📂 Support data ingestion, documentation, and process improvement initiatives
🎓 Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled in or recently graduated (within 2 years) from a university degree in IT, data analytics, computer science, or related fields
- 0–2 years of experience with eDiscovery or digital forensics tools
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, PowerShell, PowerBI, and digital systems
- Fluency in English (French, Spanish, Arabic, or Pashto is an asset)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
