๐ About the Project
Take part in a transformative volunteering experience in rural Ghana by helping young students discover the beauty of language and cultural exchange!
The Kongo Community Development Association (KoCDA) is a grassroots organisation in Ghanaโs Upper East Region, near the borders of Burkina Faso and Togo. Its mission is to promote French language learning as a tool for communication, regional cooperation, and development.
As a volunteer, you will:
๐ Teach basic and intermediate French in local schools
๐ Organise workshops and competitions to promote French learning
๐ฌ Assist teachers and children in everyday conversation practice
๐ Encourage intercultural exchange between Ghana and its Francophone neighbours
๐ป Support ICT and community education projects
Your contribution will strengthen cross-border understanding and empower the next generation of youth through education and cultural awareness.
๐ก Accommodation, Food & Transport
๐ Volunteers will stay at NDAHA Guesthouse, with private lockable rooms (each with toilet and shower).
โ๏ธ Ceiling fans are available in every room.
๐ Volunteers can cook in a shared kitchen with cabinets and a refrigerator. Tropical fruits, vegetables, and local foods are abundant, while supermarkets in Bolgatanga meet other needs.
๐ Common local transport includes minibuses, motorbikes, and tricycles.
๐ Training & Mentorship
This opportunity is part of the BRIDGE Project (Building Resilience, Innovation, Development and Gender Equality), which provides volunteers with:
๐ Experience in community development and empowerment activities
๐ Participation in UN Women Summits and educational workshops
๐ป Training in digital and language education
๐ Non-formal learning opportunities through NGO MONDOโs Child Support and ICT Programmes
๐ฅ Participant Profile
Weโre looking for passionate, proactive young people (18โ30 years old) who:

Are interested in teaching French as a foreign language
โ
Have experience or motivation to work with children and teachers
โ
Possess strong communication and intercultural skills
โ
Are adaptable to rural living conditions
โ
Are eager to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding
Experience in teaching or tutoring French is an advantage but not mandatory.
