🌟 Project Description
Berlin is a city shaped by migration, diversity, and constant change. This ESC project invites volunteers to join the BENN Programme, which works on connecting local citizens with refugee communities to dissolve prejudices and build a sense of shared belonging.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Support activities linking refugee residents with neighbours.
- Join workshops, citizen initiatives, and intercultural events.
- Help design and implement creative ideas to strengthen community ties.
- Contribute to participatory processes that respond to local needs while addressing global challenges.
This is a unique chance to engage in social inclusion, community empowerment, and intercultural learning in one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals.
🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport
- Accommodation in a private room (either in a shared apartment or with a host family).
- Monthly pocket money and food allowance.
- Monthly public transport ticket for Berlin (AB zone).
🎯 Training & Support
- On-arrival and mid-term seminars by the National Agency.
- Two months of basic German language school, plus ESC German language courses.
- Mentoring support and regular reflection meetings.
- Opportunity to implement your own personal project idea within BENN.
👤 Participant Profile
- Open to young people aged 18–30.
- Motivation is the key requirement — no specific background needed.
- Advantage if you have experience with children, older adults, event organisation, or music.
- Basic knowledge of German or English is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Must provide a motivation letter addressing why you want to join this project.
