✨ About the Internship

This internship is an opportunity to work directly with vulnerable and diverse communities in Slovenia, combining youth work, street outreach, advocacy, and multimedia projects. Interns will support ongoing initiatives while developing their own activities, gaining hands-on experience in social inclusion, non-formal education, and project development.


🎯 Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Community Activities: Plan and deliver leisure evenings, conversation groups, sports events, street actions, and workshops.
  • Direct Support: Provide short 1-on-1 counselling sessions (depending on language and needs).
  • Street Outreach: Engage with young people in public spaces, raising awareness on LGBT+ issues, youth work, and psychosocial support.
  • Advocacy Projects: Contribute to gender-based violence research, feminism & street safety campaigns, and awareness-raising articles.
  • Non-Formal Education: Design and facilitate workshops for youth, students, and youth workers from Slovenia and abroad.
  • Communication & Media: Support healthy lifestyle promotion via videos, info stands, and community events.
  • Administration & Fundraising: Learn to plan, write, and monitor grant applications from start to finish.
  • Networking & Events: Join local/international youth events, represent the organisation, and build cross-sector partnerships.

🗓️ A Typical Day

  • 10:00 – 10:30: Team meeting & intervision 🗣️
  • 10:30 – 12:00: Grant writing & admin tasks 📝
  • 12:00 – 13:00: Volunteer sessions 🤝
  • 13:30 – 15:00: Street outreach in Ljubljana 🚶
  • 15:00 – 15:30: Report analysis & advocacy drafting 📑
  • 15:30 – 16:00: Planning activities with volunteers & clients 📌

💡 Learning Outcomes

By the end of the internship, participants will:

  • Gain experience with intersectional communities (LGBT+, neurodiverse, mental health).
  • Learn to independently design and manage projects & grant applications.
  • Develop advocacy, outreach, and facilitation skills.
  • Pilot their own project ideas with the community.
  • Understand how to work with decision-makers & policy structures.
