🇸🇮 ESC Volunteering in Slovenia 🌲 Forest Pedagogy and Language Learning at Elementary Schools 📚

Description

You will be one of three long-term volunteers we will be hosting this year, and your main area of focus will be at our local elementary schools and partner organisations, Gradec and Kresnice. Gradec is a medium-sized school in Litija for pupils aged 6-15 years old (Grades 1-8), and Kresnice is a smaller, village school for Grades 1-5, which works under Gradec’s ‘umbrella’. Gradec and Lojtra cooperate in sending and receiving pupils on international youth exchanges, and now also in hosting international volunteers.Past volunteers at Gradec have been involved in language learning, after-school sports and games, gardening and STEM lessons, while at Kresnice, forest pedagogy and outside play have been large parts of the volunteers’ focus. The teachers have found that international experiences inspire their pupils to learn more and be more active - as our volunteer, you'll be a key part of this process, of bringing possibility home.The whole infopack here: https://canva.link/7ixlva3hfflnx6y

You can arrive to Slovenia as soon as we figure out all the details and latest by 1st of december.

Training during the activity

You will have a chance to learn prom various pedagogues in schools, on topic of dance pedagogdy, forest pedagogy, language education and more. You will be part of weekly office meetings with Lojtra's team, where you will recieve all the support needed to carry out your porjects. You will be included in our training courses on topis of youth work, sustainability and art to get some new knowledge. Participant profile

-a good grasp of English -some experience of working with children. Any level of experience isvalid - whether you worked formally with kids before or just come from a big family, it's all helpful. -enthusiasm for the project. We want a volunteer who really wants to carry out the project and to be here with us. Being an international volunteer isn't always easy (we know from our own experiences!), but enthusiasm can go a long way to helping you through the tougher moments.
