Description
As a volunteer at Rubicon, a low-threshold facility for children and young people, you will support their successful integration into society through meaningful and engaging activities. Rubicon provides a safe space where children and teenagers can spend their free time, develop skills, and receive support when they need it.
Your role will focus mainly on activation and leisure activities, helping children use their time in a positive and constructive way. You will also assist with school preparation, especially in foreign languages (mainly English), and take part in organising and leading club and extracurricular activities based on your interests and skills.
This opportunity is ideal for volunteers who enjoy working with young people, are creative and proactive, and want to support children in their personal development, education, and social inclusion.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers receive a daily stipend of 7 EUR. In addition, a 9 EUR per day food allowance is provided. The project also covers the costs of Czech language lessons, local transportation, and all other expenses directly related to the volunteering activity.
We provide accommodation in a private apartment located about a 10-minute walk from the city centre. The apartment has a shared living room with a kitchen, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. There are two bedrooms, each shared by two volunteers, so you will share a room with one other international volunteer.

Training during the activity
The main learning experience takes place through active participation in the daily activities of the Rubikon Club. By working with children and young people, volunteers develop communication, social, leadership, and teaching skills while gaining practical experience in non-formal education. They also participate in ESC on-arrival and mid-term trainings, offering opportunities for personal growth, intercultural learning, and networking. According to their interests, volunteers may join selected staff training courses to further broaden their knowledge and skills.
