Description
We spend a lot of time holding space for others. But what holds us? Explore resilience through embodiment, aquatic methodologies and warm-water experiences. Discover trust, boundaries, letting go and practical tools to stay afloat, in our work and beyond.
ABOUT We spend a lot of time holding space for others. But what holds u? Buoyancy invites us to explore exactly that. Through the body, movement, connection and experiences on land and in water, we’ll play with support, boundaries, trust, letting go and the different ways we can stay afloat.
We will work through embodiment, breathwork, movement, PlayFight, body awareness and grounding practices, together with structured aquatic methodologies in warm water. We’ll explore trust, support, boundaries, consent, co-regulation and letting go through experiential exercises, both individually and with others.
The programme will also include reflection circles, peer learning, group processes and participant-led practice, giving us space not only to experience the methods ourselves, but also to explore how they can be adapted to our work with others.
Disclaimer: This program is offered as a learning and training experience. It focuses on practical tools, reflection, and shared exploration. It is not therapy, and it is not intended to replace professional mental health care or clinical support.
THE METHODOLOGIES Aquatic methodologies Water offers a different kind of learning environment. It supports the body, gives immediate sensory feedback and changes our relationship with control, weight, trust and receiving support. Through structured and supervised activities in a heated pool, we will explore support, co-regulation, boundaries, letting go, trust and asking for or receiving help.
Embodiment On land, we will work with body awareness, grounding, breath, movement and reflective practices. We will explore how stress shows up in the body, how we can recognise it earlier, and what helps us return to a state where we can respond rather than simply react.
FOLLOW-UP AFTER THE PROJECT What we experience in Buoyancy doesn't stay in the water. Let's take it beyond the training and see how far the ripples can reach! After the project, each participant is expected to organise one follow-up activity with at least 5 people, bringing a little piece of Buoyancy into their own community. It could be a workshop, a playful session, or simply a space to share and explore some of the methods and experiences from the training. Get creative and make it your own! You'll have one and a half month after the training to make it happen, either on your own or together with other participants. Afterwards, we'll ask you to fill in a short follow-up form and share a few photos or other visual materials, so we can spread the inspiration even further! The completion of this step is also linked to your reimbursement.
WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT more confidence to bring embodied practices into your work tools to ground and regulate yourself new ways to work with body, movement and water a fresh look at trust, support and boundaries a better sense of your own limits and maybe a little less need to hold it all together.
BUOYANCY MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF.. You work with people as a youth worker, facilitator, trainer, mentor, coach, educator, coordinator or volunteer, and you are curious about movement, embodiment, water and experiential learning. You want to explore presence, self-regulation, boundaries, trust and support, and discover new ways of staying available to others without forgetting yourself. You are open to moving, playing, experimenting, reflecting and learning through experience, both on land and in water. No previous experience with embodiment or aquatic practices is needed, and you don’t need to be a strong swimmer. Bring your curiosity, communicate your needs and come as you are.
