Description

A Partnership Building Activity for youth workers, coaches and organisations using sport as a non-formal learning tool. The PBA focuses on inclusion, accessibility, Education Through Sport, networking and future Erasmus+ cooperation.

Inclusive Youth “Education Through Sport” (Net)Work is a 6-day residential Partnership Building Activity bringing together youth workers, youth leaders, coaches, PE teachers, sport practitioners and representatives of youth, sport, disability and educational organisations from across Europe.

The activity focuses on Education Through Sport (ETS) as a non-formal learning approach. Its aim is not to provide technical sport coaching, but to strengthen the quality of youth work by helping practitioners use sport and movement more intentionally as tools for learning, inclusion, participation and personal development.

The PBA is especially relevant for participants who work directly with young people, including young people with disabilities and other young people with fewer opportunities, and who would like to develop more inclusive, accessible and educational sport-based activities.

During the activity participants will:

• get to know potential European partners and their youth work practices;

• exchange concrete examples and good practices in Education Through Sport;

• explore how sport activities can be adapted for mixed-ability and diverse groups;

• discuss accessibility, safe participation, support needs and inclusion in youth work;

• experience and analyse inclusive sport-based non-formal learning methods;

• develop shared practical resources for youth workers and organisations;

• identify opportunities for future Erasmus+ cooperation and develop realistic follow-up project ideas.

The programme will use participatory and non-formal learning methods, including a Partner Marketplace, experiential activities, small-group work, World Café, best-practice exchange, collaborative design sessions, a study visit, a Budapest city rally, an Inclusive Sport Experience Lab, project development workshops and daily reflection.

Participants will actively contribute their own experience and organisational practices. The activity is therefore designed as a space for mutual learning and partnership building rather than one-way training.

Expected joint results include:

• practical Minimum Standards for inclusive Education Through Sport activities;

• an open and editable Tool Pack with simple resources such as accessibility and support-needs checklists, buddy/peer-support roles and reflection tools;

• examples and a common structure for sharing good practices;

• a Network Charter for future cooperation;

• concrete follow-up Erasmus+ project concepts and organisational action plans.

Youthpass will be integrated into the learning process to support participants in identifying and reflecting on the competences developed during the activity.

Target participants are adults (18+) who are actively involved in youth work or in sport-based activities with young people. Applicants should be motivated to exchange practices, contribute actively to the partnership-building process and apply the results in their local youth work after the activity. A basic working level of English is required.

The activity is coordinated by FODISZ – the Hungarian National Student, Competitive and Recreational Sports Federation for Athletes with Disabilities – within the Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers programme.
