🇷🇴 Erasmus+ Training Course in Romania 🌲 Outdoor Education for Youth Development and Environmental Awareness 🧭

We are looking for 3 youth workers from Poland to join our Erasmus+ KA153 training course on outdoor education and its role in youth development and environmental awareness.

Let's Learn Outside the Box! is a 7-day Erasmus+ training course (KA153) for youth workers, youth leaders, trainers and volunteers active in non-formal learning and youth work who want to use outdoor education as a tool for young people's development and environmental awareness.

The course brings together 25 youth work practitioners from Romania, Italy, Spain, Türkiye and Poland. This call is for 3 remaining places for participants from Poland, who will join through our Polish partner, Wałbrzyskie Stowarzyszenie Młodzieży.

Aims of the training

Understand the principles of outdoor education and its impact on youth development and sustainability

Develop practical skills to prepare, facilitate and evaluate outdoor activities with young people, including planning, risk management, decision-making and problem-solving

Learn and test at least five non-formal methods that can be transferred directly into youth work practice

Gain confidence and motivation to use outdoor education in your own local context

Methodology

The programme follows non-formal learning principles: experiential learning, team-building, problem-solving challenges, peer learning and daily reflection. Participants won't just learn about outdoor methods; they will experience them. A key moment is a community outdoor activity in Bucharest, prepared with local youth workers, where participants apply the methods directly with young people.

Who should apply

Youth workers, youth leaders, trainers, educators or volunteers aged 18+ working with young people in non-formal settings

Residents of Poland

Interested in outdoor education and its link with environmental responsibility

Ready to step out of their comfort zone and take part actively in the full programme

Committed to organising at least one outdoor activity with young people in their community within three months after the training

Both newcomers to Erasmus+ and experienced participants are welcome. We value a group with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.

Practical information

Accommodation and meals are fully covered. Travel costs are reimbursed within the Erasmus+ limits. There is no participation fee. The working language is English.

Accommodation and food

Yes. Accommodation and food are organised and provided by the hosting organisation, Asociația Culturală Atelierul European de Artă, and are fully covered by the Erasmus+ programme, in line with the Erasmus+ standards for Romania. Participants pay nothing for accommodation or meals. Participants will stay in shared rooms (2 persons per room) and receive three meals per day throughout the training. Please let us know about any dietary needs or allergies in your application form.
