Description

AMAD is a dynamic and multicultural NGO based in Tirana, Albania, working to promote human rights, mental health, gender equality, social inclusion and youth empowerment. The volunteer will support the organisation’s communication and awareness activities by creating social media content, visuals and short videos; contributing to campaigns on mental health, gender equality, diversity and inclusion; assisting with the organisation of events, workshops and youth activities; participating in community and intercultural initiatives; documenting AMAD’s activities; and contributing creative ideas to campaigns and projects. The volunteering activity is 5 days per week, up to 35 hours per week, with weekends free.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will stay in a furnished shared apartment in a convenient area of Tirana, with shared rooms, an equipped kitchen and bathroom, heating, electricity, water and internet included. The accommodation complies with European Solidarity Corps quality standards. Transport related to volunteering activities will be covered or supported by AMAD. Food allowance and pocket money will be provided according to the ESC programme rules and the project budget.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive on-arrival training organised by the National ESC Agency, continuous mentoring and individual support from AMAD, and access to Online Linguistic Support (OLS). They will also participate in internal training on human rights, gender equality, mental health, media literacy, intercultural dialogue and youth empowerment. Learning will be based on non-formal education and learning by doing. At the end of the activity, volunteers will receive a Youthpass Certificate and a certificate of participation.

Participant profile

We welcome motivated, curious and committed young people aged 18–30 who are interested in human rights, advocacy, youth work, mental health, gender equality and social inclusion. Previous volunteering experience is not required. A basic level of English or Italian is expected; Albanian is not required. Basic digital and communication skills are an advantage, particularly experience with Canva, WordPress, social media, writing or video creation. Most importantly, we are looking for proactive, creative, flexible and responsible people who are eager to learn, take initiative and contribute to a multicultural team.
