About Make.org
Make.org is an independent European civic-tech organisation that builds technology for democratic purposes — engaging citizens and stakeholders on a massive scale in decision-making, and working on digital participation, the impact of AI on democratic processes, and the links between technology and democracy across Europe and globally. Its offices are in Paris, Berlin and Brussels, and this role is Brussels-based. Your role
Working closely with the Participatory Strategy team, you'll be strongly involved in Make.org's ongoing projects. In particular you will:
- Contribute to the project development of future potential opportunities.
- Support general project implementation, organisation and management.
- Draft policy notes, publications and posts for social media.
- Manage networks and partnerships (including NGOs, public partners and foundations).
- Report back from relevant conferences and events, including informal meetings.
- Support the organisation and implementation of events.

Who they're looking for
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in European studies, public policy, economics or another relevant discipline.
- Background and experience in European public affairs; project management, communication, and knowledge of EU funding opportunities.
- A sincere interest in participatory democracy, civic tech and citizen engagement.
- Well-organised, practical-minded, able to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
- Excellent English (written and spoken) and a solid knowledge of French; further EU languages are desirable.
- Strong computer/internet skills (basic knowledge of tools such as Canva and social media).

The practical details
This is a paid internship, with remuneration following the legal minimum for university internships, envisaged for a 6-month period (deviations possible). Throughout the internship you must be enrolled in a University / School. Make.org would like to fill the position as soon as possible.
