🇵🇹 Business Development Intern (Fully Remote) 📈 Erasmus+ Internship at Shrubi in Lisbon, Portugal 🌱 (Erasmus+ grant)

Posted 12 September 2026

About Shrubi
Shrubi is a fast-growing, no-code marketplace platform based in Lisbon that also runs a dependable booking platform for small and medium businesses — simplifying reservations and supporting steady growth without the complexity of enterprise software. Its mission is to help entrepreneurs launch their own marketplaces without complexity, and the team is expanding across Europe, looking for motivated interns who want to learn fast, take ownership, and see their work make a real impact. Youth Works Hub regularly shares fully remote startup roles like this because they let you build real commercial experience from anywhere.

What this internship is about
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to understand SaaS growth and sales from the inside. You'll support Shrubi's expansion by identifying opportunities, nurturing leads, and helping potential clients understand the value of the platform — a genuine early-sales-pipeline experience rather than shadowing.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead generation in an online environment.
  • Direct communication with new clients via email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and calls.
  • Managing the early sales pipeline and supporting the selling process.
  • Researching potential partners, verticals and opportunities.
  • Documenting conversations and tracking KPIs.

Who Shrubi is looking for

  • Good research skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn sales processes.
  • Strong communication skills in English.

What you'll learn

  • How the full sales pipeline works inside a SaaS startup.
  • Direct experience generating leads, qualifying them and holding discovery calls.
  • Training on modern outreach strategies (cold email, LinkedIn, community outreach).
  • Hands-on experience supporting real sales — and how to convert leads into paying users.

The practical details
This is an unpaid Erasmus+ traineeship (during studies), part-time at 20 hours per week, lasting 3 months, fully remote, with an expected start date of 1 October 2026. Open to students from short-cycle to doctorate level; working language English.
